Every three years, PMI enhances their project management profession certification by extending the profession to include different project leadership approaches, culture and people skills, and understanding of the dynamics of the business environment. It is not just about processes, methods, tools, and techniques. That’s only half of the certification. The other half includes people knowledge and business thinking. And this half is not in the PMBOK. PMI expects project managers who seek their certification in 2021 will demonstrate understanding of people skills and business acumen.
