Mentoring - Make connections and gain valuable insight:  Mark Mallette (PMP, ACP)

By mentoring businesses and individuals, PMIWV promotes the chapter and professional project management within the community, while giving practical experience and knowledge to members.  Please come join us in learning how we, PMIWV, would like to assess the needs of those to be mentored and identify those willing to mentor.  It is truly a rewarding experience!!!

The winners in mentoring are:

1. Students win by learning how to apply their education to real-life situations

2. Business wins when they acquire out-of-the-box perspectives to challenges and changes

3. PMI Members win by broadening their knowledge of how different industries function and why

4. A non-tangible win applies to the community as a whole; PMI best practices will be established or refined

Our Presenter.......

Mark Mallette

I first started in construction for residential and commercial buildings. After twenty years, I went to school and achieved an associates degree in computer science, changing careers to information technology.

Climbed through the ranks and became a systems administrator for the main applications connecting students and staff to the information data system. I then went back to school to earn a bachelors degree in Organizational Management and Leadership, and then earned a Masters degree in Business Administration.

Spending time doing projects, I looked into getting a formal education earning a Project Management Professional (PMP) and an Agile Certified Practionar (ACP) certifications. All of this groundwork has led me to work for ODOT in the Engineering Automation division doing technology advancement projects.
