March 2019 Salem Lunch Meeting

Clyde Raymer Small

Business Analyst: how did I get here...where am I headed…how to get there?

Clyde Raymer, Jr, PMP, Independent Consultant, Lane Community College Instructor and Iditarod Participant

Meeting held at Roth's West Salem

Through a combination of military, self-study and university education, practical technical experience in telecommunications, networks and construction, Leadership training and remote outdoor adventures...I have been able to experience many aspects of Management, Operations, Survival and Program Management opportunities.

My experience in both the strategic planning and tactical implementation for private, public, tribal and nonprofits environments provides me the clarity of purpose and determination of success.

I earned my PMI PMP in 2009 and remain current with all requirements. I was selected in 2017 to attend PMI’s yearlong Master Class. This series of sessions teach Leadership, Team building through the techniques of “Servant Leadership”. I believe in building great leaders, not good followers.

Now, as PMIWV past president I have taken on the responsibility as Director, PMO. The PMO resides under the VP Program’s portfolio managed by Bob Frank.

Many of our members have expressed interest in the PMI Business Analyst certification program. I too am curious about the many different BA job descriptions in public and private business. After considerable research, questioning, reading, googling and intense listening to BA professionals …….. My March conversation is about,

“Business Analyst: how did I get here...where am I headed…how to get there?
