December 2017 Salem Lunch Meeting

Hiring Project Managers for State Govenment

Ray Hanosek, PMP

Presenter: Ray Hanosek, PMP

Jim Collins said we need to get the right people on the bus and in the right seat.   Leaders must be rigorous in the selection process for getting new people on the bus. Invest substantial time in evaluating each candidate and make systematic use of at least three evaluation devices (e.g., interviews, references, background, testing, etc.).

Bad hiring decisions cost tremendously in our time, money and in many other ways that we don't always appreciate. Time is lost in sourcing and interviewing candidate’s time, on-boarding and training process, etc.  There is the lost money in salary paid to unsuccessful employees and recruiting fees.

We will exam the State hiring process and strategies for finding the right person for your bus.
