November 2017 Salem Lunch Meeting
Techniques for Recovering IT Projects
Presenter: Kristi Ivers, MBA, PMP
IT Project Delivery Manager for the State of Oregon’s Office of Information Services
Based on a 2017 report in the PM World Journal, almost 25% of IT projects experience failure and 50% require rework. IT projects can fail or require rework for a number of reasons. Maybe your budget was reduced, the deadlines were unrealistic or you lost your key technical team lead. If any of this sounds familiar, you’re not alone!
The success or failure ultimately depends on of your actions to recover the project. We will examine 3 early warning signs that projects are in trouble and 7 techniques that are crucial for recovering IT projects.
Working to recover a project that is in trouble can be one of the most challenging and rewarding assignments you will ever receive as a project manager.
